Wohlhaupter GmbH

Commitment to Corporate and Environmental Responsibility

Frickenhausen, Germany. Wohlhaupter GmbH, precision boring tool manufacturer, will be a partner of the VDMA sustainability initiative Blue Competence for the introduction and implementation of technical sustainability solutions, resource-efficient production and responsible corporate management.

Industrial and plant engineering is a crucial sector of the German economy, without which the implementation of a sustainable economy cannot be implemented. As an important supplier of precision tools, Wohlhaupter is closely linked to mechanical engineering and makes its contribution to a sustainable quality of life in the areas of mobility, water supply and energy technology. "Our com obligates us to look into the future and face the challenges. In the future, success will come to those who already think sustainably today," says Frank-M. Wohlhaupter, managing partner of Wohlhaupter GmbH, on joining the Blue Competence initiative.

Wohlhaupter has already been conserving resources for some time. Energy-saving LED lights shine in the 7,500-square-meter production and administration building, saving around 70 tons of CO2 extrapolated over a year. For more than 10 years, the plant has been drawing most of its energy from the ground for heating and air conditioning the production facilities. It has always been part of Wohlhaupter's brand essence to assume responsibility and to take account of social and ecological obligations through forward-looking corporate management. This includes the commitment to the Frickenhausen location and to Made in Germany, as well as the appreciation of long-serving employees and investments in the training of young skilled workers - even in difficult times such as the current coronavirus pandemic.

In order to further intensify the activities already initiated, Wohlhaupter will be guided by the twelve guiding principles of the VDMA's sustainability initiative. The guiding principles drawn up by the VDMA, such as resource conservation and climate neutrality, as well as responsibility and fairness and the protection of human rights, emphasize the social responsibility of all companies. "The initiative is an important building block for this and we are pleased that the largest industrial association in the world, the VDMA, is living up to its social responsibility," emphasizes Frank-M. Wohlhaupter.
